Untitled3The Amy Biehl Foundation will be hosting a gala fundraising dinner on 7 November 2009 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre to raise funds to sustain and grow our programmes in the townships in and around Cape Town.  Tickets are sold at R10 000-00 per table of 10 or R1 000-00 per person and include a 3 course dinner, wine, entertainment by Sibongile Khumalo, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Aviva Pelham, The Original Tons, Larry Soffer, the Amy Biehl Foundation children and many more with Colin Moss and Gerry Rantseli-Elsdon as our MCs.  Each guest will receive a lovely goody bag and there will be spot prizes. The Amy Biehl Foundation is a non-profit organisation whose programmes are designed to develop and empower youth in the townships and aim to reduce the levels of crime, gangs, drug abuse, HIV Aids and violence and to give children a brighter future. This is achieved by providing educational and cultural activities that offer students healthy alternatives to crime, drugs, sex, idleness and negative influences, unlocks their creative talent, giving them opportunities to become future leaders, entrepreneurs and well rounded citizens. Programmes reach over 1 500 children every week, and include:

• After School Centres
• Creative Arts including sketching, painting, beading & pottery, Drama and Dance (Kwaito, Modern, Traditional, Contemporary & Ballet)
• Sports including soccer, hockey, kickboxing, cricket, swimming, diving, surfing  and the first and only Golf Driving Range in a township
• Music including Violin, Guitar, Recorder, Marimba, Choral Singing, and Brass Band
• HIV / AIDS Peer Education
• Greening & Environment
• Youth Reading Role Model Literacy
