EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT

Understand Employee Engagement in South Africa

South African executives will get the opportunity to take a first-hand look at how organisational culture drives results during the upcoming Happy Sandpit Culture Experience, on June 20 and 21, 2017.

“Creating and nurturing culture that drives performance, loyalty and engagement should be top of the list of goals for any organisation, but the challenge for leaders is to know what to do, and where to start doing it,” says Colin Browne, author of How to build a Happy Sandpit and founder of the Johannesburg-based Happy Sandpit think tank.

In response to that, the Culture Experience will offer executives a first-hand, immersive opportunity to learn about how four great South African companies have successfully created strong cultures of their own.

Each day will feature tours of the organisations we visit, presentations and Q&A sessions with that organisation’s leaders, and an opportunity to gain very unusual access and insights into the four companies under the spotlight: Rovos Rail, Nando’s, Striata and King Price Insurance.

The Culture Experience is designed for senior business leaders, leaders of people, and business owners, who want to better understand organisational culture and its ability to build engagement among employees.

Previous executive participants have come from Absa Wealth, AECI Alexander Forbes, Gold Fields, Kimmo, Kynoch, Murray & Roberts, PPC, Sanlam Investments, SA Taxi Finance, Standard Bank, Sun International, Tom Tom and WeBuyCars.co.za

“The greatest learning for executives is often to see first hand the critical role the CEO and the senior management team play in actively driving culture from top to bottom,” says Browne.

“Without this relentless drive of top management, it is hard to see how the culture can be sustained.”
