The new Volvo XC90 Excellence is the latest and greatest in Volvo’s XC90 line-up. Bespoke and designed exclusively for four occupants, the XC90 Excellence is the ultimate in luxury SUV motoring, placing particular emphasis on the two individual rear seats.
Designed to be as comfortable and featuring the same adjustment as the two front seats, sitting in the back of the new XC90 Excellence is a truly luxurious experience. Besides multiple adjustment settings including inflatable side bolsters and an extendable seat cushion, the seats offer heating, ventilation and massage functionality—and individual foot rests mean you can really get comfortable while being chauffeured in this Swedish sanctuary of class and comfort.
The rear seats are separated by the Excellence console—a leather- and wood-covered partition which plays host to extra storage pockets, a heated and cooled cup holder, as well as two bespoke, hand-crafted crystal champagne flutes made by the Swedish glass maker, Orrefors. In the central cubby hole, two USB outlets are on hand for your smart devices, as is a fully-fledged 230V power socket to charge your laptop or other electronic devices.
A hidden control panel, which rises from the console, offers a touchscreen interface to control seat adjustment, heating, ventilation and massaging, and is easily accessible by either rear occupant.
The console is finished off by twin extendable tray tables, which are hidden under the arm rest, and a refrigerator is on hand to keep the bubbly chilled at all times.
Behind the rear seats, a soundproof glass partition separates the cabin and luggage compartment while maximising the influx of light, to create a truly calm and quiet environment.
Available exclusively as a plug-in hybrid with the phenomenal T8 Twin Engine drivetrain, the XC90 Excellence is also a smooth and silent operator, with pure electric drive as well as a conventional combustion engine on hand to provide power to all four wheels. Total output is a staggering 300 kW and 640 Nm, which means the XC90 Excellence is no slouch.
The XC90 Excellence is also semi-autonomous, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control and Pilot Assist as standard, which can control acceleration, braking and steering up to 130 km/h in certain conditions. All available equipment is fitted as standard to the XC90 Excellence, which includes air suspension, full-LED headlights, 21-inch alloy wheels, satellite navigation with free map updates for life, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch Sensus Connect central touch screen interface, Head-Up Display, removable integrated tablet holders for the front seatbacks, privacy glass with rear window sun blinds, a panoramic sunroof, and of course Volvo’s complete arsenal of safety equipment.
