Robbie_optLeadership does it again

Leadership magazine, the flagship publication of the Cape Media Corporation stable won no less than three top accolades at this year’s prestigious PICA Awards gala-event of the Magazine Publishers Association of South Africa (MPASA).

The annual awards acknowledge standards of excellence in magazine publishing and journalism.

Leadership won the Watling trophy as the best overall business-to-business publication and its editor, Robbie Stammers also took top honours as best editor in the business-to-business category.

Leadership was also judged as the best business-to-business magazine in the professional services category.

The awards comes short on the heels of the publication of Leadership’s bumper December edition, which is the publication’s 300th edition, showing that it has stood the test of time.

In total, Leadership has won 14 Mondi Awards; the 2008 PICA Award for best magazine in its business-to-business category; as well as a 2009 international TABBI Award – coming 6th out of 500 global entries.

Cape Media also received a certificate for publishing excellence in the tourism category for its publication Explore SA.

On its website the MPASA states that through “the PICA Awards, MPASA believes that member publishers will aspire to sustain and advance the quality of their titles for the benefit of their readers.”

To toll or not to toll The news was recently dominated by the fifth delay in the implementation of Gauteng’s e-tolling system. The term that springs to mind...
