The Aquaculture Association of South Africa in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will be hosting the 14th Aquaculture Association of Southern Africa Conference in the picturesque town of Stellenbosch, South Africa from the 8th – 14th September 2019.
The theme for this year’s meeting is “Inspire/Accelerate/Impact”. The objective of the conference is to bring together industry, government, academia, researchers and students to exchange and discuss information, findings and experiences on all subjects and techniques related to aquaculture.
This year’s exciting programme will cover a number of important thematic areas; including new and innovative production technologies, aquatic animal health, genetics, recirculating aquaculture technologies, seaweeds, nutrition & feeds, marine & freshwater aquaculture, policy and development.
Keynote speakers included Dr Nick Moody (Senior Research Scientists at the CSIRO Australian Animal Health Laboratory), Prof. John J. Bolton (Seaweed Specialist and Emeritus Profession & Senior Research Scholar at the University of Cape Town), Dr Kevan Main (Associate Vice President for Research at Mote Marine Laboratory, Florida), Dr Sherif Sadek (Founder and Executive Manager of the Egyptian Mariculture Company) and Dr Arjen Roem (Marketing Director of Skretting Africa).
