The 2013 Helderberg Wine Festival kicks off on Thursday, 14 November until Sunday, 17 November and once again 19 wineries from Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Sir Lowry's Village and Faure will participate in this annual event. 

The festival aims to highlight the good work done among previously disadvantaged people by Amorim Cork's Corklife project and abuzzwine will ensure that you can always get hold of Helderberg Wines wherever you are!

The final list of winery participants are: Annandale Wines, Avontuur Estate, Beau Belle, Blaauwklippen, Croydon, Dornier, Hidden Valley, Heron Ridge, Ken Forrester, Lithos Wines, Longridge, Miravel, Post House, Romond, Somerbosch, Uva Mira, Vergenoegd, Waterkloof and Wedderwill.

This year the festival offers three exciting crowd-pleaser events:

Thursday, 14 November:  Six Senses Evening at Waterkloof.

All wineries come together with their restaurants and set up in the spectacular cellar building at Waterkloof overlooking False Bay for an evening of wine tasting and signature dishes from each chef.  Tickets are R200 each and includes the tasting, a multi-day festival pack, R50 food coupons (more for sale) and entrance to the event.

Friday, 15 November:  Movie Night at Blaauwklippen Vineyards

Jive like Greased Lighthing at our outdoor movie show, GREASE,  which includes a free popcorn and a 1-day (R150) or multi-day festival ticket (R200). Seating provided or bring your own. Eats and drinks for sale. (No BYO). Gates open 18h00 and the movie starts at 19h30.

Saturday, 16 November:  ECHO dinner/dance at the NH Lord Charles Hotel

Participating wineries Somerbosch, Waterkloof, Blaauwklippen and Annandale are sponsoring the wine, Amorim Cork presenting their works, a 3-course meal, live music, a charity auction and Summer Smart outfits creating the vibe!  R450 pp, which includes a 1-day festival ticket for Sunday 17 November.

Ticket sales are now open, with the various options available from www.plankton.mobi or from the Helderberg Wine Festival Facebook page. During the festival, tickets can be bought at the central ticket office at Vergenoegd Wine Estate or most of the participating wineries.
